Supplemental Educational Services (SES)
Supplemental educational services (SES) are free tutoring services that must be offered to low-income children who attend a Title I school, such as Ligonier Elementary (now West Noble Primary) or West Noble Elementary School that fails to make progress for three years (in its second year of "school improvement status").
Low-income students are generally those who are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch.
These services offer students extra help in academic subjects such as reading, language arts, and mathematics. SES services are provided outside the regular school day—before or after school, on weekends, or in the summer.
A provider’s placement on the state approved SES provider list should not be construed as an endorsement of the provider by the Indiana Department of Education. SES providers are not employed by Indiana Department of Education and do not hold any contracts with the Indiana Department of Education. SES providers are paid by school districts only for services rendered by providing tutoring to eligible students. Placement on the state approved SES provider list is not a guarantee of payment, funding, or selection by parents.
See SES Parent Brochure listed below. The deadline for first round SES programming is October 26, 2011. Applications received after that time will not be considered until the second round of programming, and only if there are remaining slots available.
